WGU Alumni Celebration Event Designs

Role: Visual Designer

Designed a cohesive visual experience for Western Governors University alumni events, creating welcoming, on-brand spaces that strengthened school pride and community connection.

Responsibilities:

  • Designed branded pop-up tents, check-in tables, and wayfinding signage

  • Partnered with the alumni team to refresh existing displays, including updating the string wall to align with new WGU brand guidelines

  • Prepared vendor-ready files and coordinated production to ensure high-quality execution of event materials

Designing a Branded Arrival Experience

I designed the branded pop-up tents, check-in tables, and wayfinding signage that welcomed guests as they arrived, aiming to make the entrance polished, inviting, and unmistakably WGU.

Refreshing the String Wall

The string wall was an existing alumni activity, but I gave it a full visual refresh to align with WGU’s updated brand guidelines. Alumni wrapped color-coded string around pegs representing their region, degree, and career goals, transforming the display into a vibrant snapshot of the community.

Creating Photo-Worthy Alumni Backdrops

I designed brand-forward photo backdrops to give alumni and their guests memorable portrait opportunities, boosting social media sharing and extending the event’s reach.

My process included mocking up placement in the event space, ensuring the scale worked for groups, and delivering print-ready files.
